Mehriban Aliyeva presented with the Crans Montana Forum`s Gold Medal

Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan`s First Lady, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, was presented with the Crans Montana Forum`s Gold Medal, Brussels, June 24.

In the awarding ceremony, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was welcomed by President of the Crans Montana Forum Jean-Paul Carteron. M.Aliyeva met with the guests.

Prior to the ceremony, a lunch was given on behalf of the Azerbaijani First Lady.

The Medal is awarded by the Crans Montana Forum on exceptional occasions and by special decision in recognition of successful achievements in favor of a more humane world. Mehriban Aliyeva’s receiving this medal indicates the international awareness of her multilateral actions in the social, cultural, scientific, educational and public health spheres.

The ceremony was opened by Jean-Paul Carteron, who said the Azerbaijani First Lady was honored for her tremendous and valuable contribution to building a more humane world. Carteron thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for accepting the Medal.

ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri praised the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s educational, cultural and social projects. He said the Foundation played an important role in bringing up the new generation in Azerbaijan. Altwaijri also hailed the Azerbaijani First Lady for actively working as MP and placing a special importance on organizing the ISESCO events in her country. "In this regard Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva`s activity is the focus of international attention. The Azerbaijani First Lady also greatly contributes to establishing the dialogue of cultures and civilizations", the Director General said.

Director General of ISESCO Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri presented the Crans Montana Forum`s Gold Medal to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva delivered a speech in the ceremony.
