President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attend the inauguration of a modular hospital intended for treatment of coronavirus patients in Baku

On July 6, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a modular hospital of the Medical Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Khatai district of Baku intended for treatment of coronavirus patients.

Minister of Emergency Situations, colonel-general Kamaleddin Heydarov reported to the President.

The modular hospital of the Medical Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is comprised of 10 buildings, equipped with all facilities for admitting 800 patients. The possibilities ensured in the modular hospital allows, in addition to treating patients, conduct laboratory examinations in a short time span, and with high quality. Commissioning of such modular hospitals plays a significant part in ensuring single management and medical coordination in order to provide those infected with coronavirus with necessary medical service.

Among the significant steps made by the state of Azerbaijan, since the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, towards combatting the disease, creation of modular hospitals is of great importance. Based on President Ilham Aliyev’s relevant instructions, works on assembling of 10 modular hospital complexes across the country started, and a few of them have already been inaugurated. Altogether, the modular hospitals will ensure additional reserve of 2000 beds for the healthcare system of the country.

After becoming acquainted with the conditions created at the medical establishment, the President gave interview to the Azerbaijani Television, the Public Television, and “Khazar” TV.
